How do i use my desktop?
The Demoxi desktop is your control panel into managing your online identity. Your desktop manages the following tabs, some of which are located in the logged in stage and some in the logged out stage. Below illustrates both views.

New Member:
Clicking on the New Member link below opens a one page registration page. This quick, one page registration, asks you for only 5 basic attributes. These 5 basic attributes are not too personal and include the following; Gender, Birth Year, Country, Zip and Preferred Language. No other information is necessary on registration, although the more information you provide in 'My Wallet' the easier it will be to complete online forms at a later date. Please also note that Demoxi does not collect your email address. This protects you against spam and other unwanted attacks.

The Demoxi Sign-In user interface has been specifically designed so that it cannot be replicated in any way by Phishing. Phishing is the process by which fraudsters actively seek out and take advantage of internet users in order to steal their personal information. Phishing is the act of tricking someone into giving them confidential information or tricking them into doing something that they normally wouldn't do or shouldn't do. An attack generally begins when the potential victim receives an email, purporting to be from a well known website, that claims that the user's account information is invalid and must be corrected. The email contains an embedded hyperlink that appears to point to a page on that web site. This web page asks for the user's credit card number, contact information, Social Security number, and a Username and Password. Beneath the surface, however, neither the email message nor the web page is what it appears to be. One other common method to protect against the Phishing scam is the use of Site Keys. This is a process where, to identify itself as real, a site will ask you to select a picture that tells you that the site is real. After entering your info (less your password), the site key will show up, and if it's the picture that you chose, you know the site is real. Then you can enter your password. A fake site will not know your site key, so it won't show the site key, or it will show the wrong site key. Although popular, this method relies on the user to firstly notice the site is fake and then to act on that discovery. This puts the onus solely on the user. Demoxi, on the other hand, requires no decision as the Sign-In user interface cannot be replicated. You are guaranteed that the Demoxi Sign-In page is only from Demoxi and that your personal information is therefore protected and safe.

Additional protection against Phishing is also provided with the availability of Demoxi safe passwords. This provides the member use of an encrypted password specific for the sites Sign-In. As the password is specific to that site, an attempt at Phishing will fail. Firstly the Username and Password will not auto fill and the password will not be accepted. Refer to 'How do I ‘autosave’ my passwords?' for more information how to use Demoxi safe passwords.
After Sign-In, the Demoxi server completes a quick validation to authenticate you as a true Demoxi member. The only information Demoxi servers collect about you is a record of your Username and valid authentication signature. All other attributes are encrypted and stored locally on your computer.
My Wallet
This page stores all your personal information. This information is completely encrypted and stored locally on your computer. Tabs include the following, each of which categorizes your personal information:
- Contact
- Personal
- Cards
- Government
- Other
Although only five attributes are necessary on registration, it is in your best interest to keep as much of this information complete and update in order to assist in future form filling. Remember that all information collected in this page is encrypted and stored only on your local computer.
Within ‘My Wallet’ you have the ability to identity which attributes you want to make public. Click on a lock icon within the particular attribute, and this will unlock your attribute and make it publicly viewable by other users. Click it again and it will lock again making the attribute private and unable to be shared publicly. This proves control over what attributes you make public from your profile. For further explanations, hover your mouse over the lock icon and it will explain more. This lock and unlock feature is still under construction.
Note that the attributes you provided on registration (Birth Year, State, Zip Code, Country Code, and Preferred Language) are unable to be unlocked or removed completely. This information must remain publicly available. You may, however, modify them.
Please also remember to click ‘Save’ after modifying any information on the page.

Messages
The 'Messages' feature enables Demoxi members to securely send messages to each other. All messages between members are encrypted, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Encryption is the technical term for the process of jumbling information prior to sending and then unjumbling them at the receiving end.
Your Circle lists members under Inner Circle and Others. Inner Circle are your closest friends while Others are those friends in your outer circle.
Your Circle also lists the status of members. Are they currently active, offline or idle. Idle represents that a member has stepped away from their computer.
- Manage Circle:
- Add or delete new members, and/or
- Promote members into Contacts in my Circle or demote members into Other Contacts.

Once completed, select Your Circle and this will enable you to select members to chat to.
Delete an existing member
To delete a member simply select the ‘delete’ option next to the member you want to delete. Remember, selecting delete will remove members completely and to reinstate the member you will have to add the member again.
Once completed, select Your Circle and this will enable you to select members to chat to.
(i) General
To chat with other Demoxi members go to Your Circle and click on a member’s name. A second window will open for the message session. A new message window will open for each contact you select. Feel free to open as many as you wish. Now type your message and click ‘Enter’ or hit ‘Send’.
If the recipient is not online, the message will be stored, encrypted on the Demoxi server, until such time as the recipient logs back on to Demoxi. The message will then be sent. In the near future, messages will be able to be sent directly between Demoxi members bypassing the Demoxi server completely. This is called peer to peer messaging.
(ii) Message in your local language:
Messaging in your local language is currently available in the Messenger. When you originally registered you selected your Preferred Language. This set your language default so that when you message the recipient will receive the message in their default language. Send a message in English to a friend in France and he will receive it automatically in French. When the recipient replies in French you will receive the message in English.
Within your chat session you will see a Search tab. This tab enables you to select key words or text from previous messages so you can find previous messages.
Stay tuned for additional features which we will be adding to Messaging including peer to peer sharing of files and peer to peer payment.
